Dear and Yonder, a surf film profiling a diverse cast of water-women, kicks off a series of west coast dates tonight in Encinitas at the La Paloma Theater. The tour swings through Ventura on July 18th where Captain Liz Clark will be on hand to give a slide show, prior to the start of the film.
Sammy made this board from scratch, using one of our raw blanks which is an undertaking in itself. The entire board is glassed with Kevlar using epoxy which means you can't hit it with the sander - if you do it's ruined. You pretty much only get one chance to nail it but luckily Sammy is a ninja. He made the fins himself, too. If you are in Puerto and see this board this summer say hi to Sammy, he'll be stoked!
The glass shop post paint job. Some of you may remember the pink walls from previous shots, that was actually a color used in insane asylums to keep patients calm. I have no idea why anyone thought that would be necessary. Stru and Robin bring a few freshies to life, sick style with the silver suit Stru!
Vice.tv ran this piece on Dan last summer. Its a 3 part series that explores his upbringing, his life today and his thoughts on surfing and surfboard design.
